LeBron sets Cavs scoring record

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - LeBron James' driving layup with just over four minutes left in the first quarter of Friday's 90-83 win over Toronto put him atop the Cleveland Cavaliers record book.

The bucket gave James 10,391 career points, two more than former All-Star center Brad Daugherty, who netted 10,389 points in 548 career games with Cleveland. It took James just 380 games to surpass Daugherty.

James had 29 points in the game, giving him a total of 10,414 for his career.

James was playing facilitator early and looking to create for others, but broke the record by depositing his first three shots of the game.

First, James dropped a running jumper less than two minutes into the contest and then he tied the record with an emphatic dunk with 7:41 left in the quarter.

The superstar finally shattered the record by driving down the right side of the lane and depositing a layup with 4:10 remaining in the first frame. The crowd then roared in approval, giving James an extended standing ovation.

"It was an unbelievable feeling," James said. "These fans have watched me go from zero points all the way to 10,000-plus. They support me, they support my teammates every night we go out on the basketball court. They have seen me grow from a young man to a man. It was special to get the standing ovation. It was one of the most unbelievable feelings I've had."
