(Sports Network) - The Chicago Bulls are surprisingly still alive in the playoff chase, and will open a two-game homestand this evening versus the Milwaukee Bucks at the United Center.
The Bulls, who are four games off the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, will also host the Boston Celtics and are 17-18 at home this season. Chicago has dropped two straight, four of five and eight of its last 11 games, including Friday's 106-103 loss to the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena.
Luol Deng scored 19 points for Chicago, while Ben Gordon had 18 points and Andres Nocioni contributed 13 points in defeat.
Milwaukee, meanwhile, has lost three straight and nine of its last 12 games. In Friday's 103-86 setback to the Orlando Magic at the Bradley Center, Maurice Williams netted 18 points and Charlie Villanueva posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Bucks leading scorer Michael Redd ended with a mere seven points in 33 minutes.
The Bucks will try to stop a seven-game losing streak on the road tonight, and are a miserable 6-29 as the visitor in 2007-08. Milwaukee center Andrew Bogut (nasal surgery) missed Friday's game and is questionable against the Bulls.
The 2007-08 season series between Milwaukee and Chicago is tied at a game apiece, while the Bulls have won five of the last six meetings.
Milwaukee is winless in its last four trips to the United Center.
