Nuggets host Warriors at Pepsi Center

(Sports Network) - Two teams battling to qualify for the Western Conference playoffs meet tonight, as the Golden State Warriors visit the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.

Golden State is a half game ahead of the Nuggets for the eighth and final playoff berth in the West. However, the seventh-seeded Dallas Mavericks are just a half game in front of the Warriors and one game ahead of the Nuggets.

Denver has won four in a row and concludes a two-game homestand on Saturday. Carmelo Anthony finished with 32 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, as the Nuggets made the Western Conference playoff race tighter with a 118-105 win over the fading Mavericks on Thursday.

Allen Iverson finished with 31 points in the triumph for the Nuggets, who have won seven of their last nine games overall. Marcus Camby and J.R. Smith both scored 13 points for the Nuggets.

Forward Nene played against Dallas for the first time since he took a medical leave of absence to have a malignant tumor removed from his testicle. Nene had not played since January 7.

Denver, which has won seven in a row as the host, is 29-7 at home this season.

Golden State attempts to win back-to-back games this evening. Stephen Jackson scored 24 points, as the Warriors kept pace in the conference playoff hunt with a 111-95 win over Portland at ORACLE Arena.

Monta Ellis finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Baron Davis had 12 points and seven assists in the victory for Golden State, which has won two of its last three games overall.

The Warriors, who have won two in a row on the road, are 20-15 as the visitor this season.

Denver and Golden State have split a pair of contests this season, as both teams picked up a win on the road.

Golden State snapped a seven-game losing streak at Denver on December 30 this season. The Warriors will host the Nuggets on April 10 at ORACLE Arena.
