Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Indiana Pacers forward Jermaine O'Neal returned to the team's lineup Monday against the Miami Heat after missing the last 33 games with a sore left knee.
O'Neal is averaging 15.1 points and 7.1 rebounds in 34 games this season. He had nine points in a little less than 18 minutes in the 105-85 win over the Heat.
"I don't really have the plays down the way that I would like to," O'Neal said after the game. "I feel blessed to be able to get back out there on the floor, participate and help my teammates. It has been tough sometimes as I laid there on the training table. All kinds of things go through your mind. But with help of the trainers, coaching staff and teammates I got through it."
The return of O'Neal comes at a crucial time for the Pacers, who are fighting for a playoff spot. Indiana has just eight games left, but is tied with New Jersey for ninth in the Eastern Conference, two games behind Atlanta.
