Nuggets' Martin suspended one game

Thu 3rd, April 2008

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin was suspended one game without pay for exceeding the league's Flagrant Foul points total.

A player can not exceed five Flagrant Foul points or he receives an automatic suspension following the game in which his point total exceeds five points and for each additional flagrant foul committed during that season.

Martin was assessed a Flagrant Foul, Penalty One for striking Boris Diaw of the Phoenix Suns in the face on April 2.

The incident occurred with 3:52 remaining in the third period of Denver's 126-120 win over the Suns.

Martin will serve the suspension on Saturday, April 5 when the Nuggets host the Sacramento Kings at the Pepsi Center.
