(Sports Network) - The woeful Miami Heat open a three-game homestand against the Detroit Pistons today at AmericanAirlines Arena.
The Pistons, who are the Central Division champions, are the second seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
Detroit is 3-0 against the Heat this season, and have won four in a row in the series. The Pistons have won three of their last four at Miami.
Miami enters today's contest on a six-game losing streak. Caron Butler scored 29 points, as the Washington Wizards clinched a playoff spot for a fourth consecutive season with a 109-95 win over the lowly Heat on Friday at the Verizon Center.
Ricky Davis ended with a game-high 33 points for the Heat, who made a franchise record 19 three-pointers. Davis was 9-for-12 from beyond the arc. Chris Quinn had 24 points and eight assists for Miami, which owns an NBA-worst 13-63 record.
The Heat are a dismal 7-30 at home this season. They will host the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday and the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.
The Pistons have won four in a row. Antonio McDyess scored 19 points and Rasheed Wallace collected 17 points and eight rebounds in Detroit's 106-87 win over the New Jersey Nets at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Rodney Stuckey added 14 points and nine assists for Detroit, which won its fourth straight despite playing without Richard Hamilton (sore hip). Tayshaun Prince and Juan Dixon both scored 11, and Chauncey Billups totaled 10 points in the victory.
Hamilton, who leads the Pistons in scoring (17.7 ppg), is questionable.
Detroit is 23-15 on the road this season. The Pistons return home to host the New York Knicks on Tuesday at The Palace.
