(Sports Network) - The playoff-hopeful Denver Nuggets open an important four- game road trip, as they visit the woeful Seattle SuperSonics tonight at KeyArena.
Denver is tied with Golden State for the eighth and final playoff berth in the Western Conference.
The Nuggets attempt to get back on the winning track. On Saturday, Kevin Martin scored 36 points, and made all 13 of his free throw attempts, as Sacramento held on for a 118-115 win over Denver at the Pepsi Center.
Carmelo Anthony scored 47 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the loss for Denver. Linas Kleiza had 28 points, and Marcus Camby finished with 14 rebounds and a career-high 11 assists for Denver, which had a nine-game winning streak at home halted.
Denver, which is 3-6 in its last nine games as the visitor, is 15-22 on the road this season. The Nuggets will also visit the Clippers, Golden State and Utah on the current swing.
Seattle concludes a seven-game homestand. It has lost five in a row and is 1-5 on the stand. On Friday, Tracy McGrady popped in a game-high 25 points, and the Houston Rockets held the hapless SuperSonics to 25 second half points in a 79-66 victory at KeyArena .
Rookie standout Kevin Durant was held to a career-low four points on 2-of-17 shooting from the field in the loss to Houston. Nick Collison and Johan Petro both recorded double-doubles. Collison had 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Petro added 11 points and a career-high 15 boards.
After tonight's game, the SuperSonics will embark on a three-game road trip. They will visit Dallas, Houston and San Antonio on the upcoming swing.
The Nuggets are 3-0 against the SuperSonics this season, and have won four straight in the series. Denver has won three straight and five of its last six at Seattle.
On March 16, the Nuggets set a franchise-record for most points in a regulation game with a 168-116 victory over the SuperSonics at the Pepsi Center. Denver broke its mark for most points in regulation, eclipsing the 163 against San Antonio on January 11, 1984.
