(Sports Network) - The Toronto Raptors will try to adjust their playoff position tonight, when they close out a short homestand versus the New Jersey Nets at the Air Canada Centre.
The Raptors are seventh in the East standings, just two games behind Washington for the fifth seed and one game in back of No. 6 Philadelphia. They ended a three-game slide with a 111-93 victory over Milwaukee on Wednesday in the opener of the homestand, as Chris Bosh poured in 32 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and swatted four shots to lead the way.
Anthony Parker netted 18 points for the Raptors, who snapped a two-game losing streak at home. T.J. Ford finished with 14 points and seven assists, while Rasho Nesterovic added 14 points to go with six boards in the win. Ford (virus) is probable for Friday versus the Nets.
New Jersey still has a slim chance for a playoff berth, as it sits four games behind Atlanta for the eighth and final postseason spot in the Eastern Conference. A loss by the Nets on Friday or a victory by the Hawks tonight in New York would end New Jersey's bid for a playoff berth.
The Nets have dropped five of their last six games, including Wednesday's 104-83 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the opener of a three-game road trip at Quicken Loans Arena.
Vince Carter scored 19 points and Richard Jefferson ended with 15 points in a losing cause. Bostjan Nachbar had 14 points for New Jersey, which has lost three straight, 12 of 13 and 14 of its previous 16 road games. It is 12-26 away from the Meadowlands in 2007-08.
New Jersey will also visit the Milwaukee Bucks on the current swing.
Toronto is 2-1 against the Nets this season and 4-2 over the past six encounters.
The Nets are winless in their last three trips to Canada.
