Canucks' G Sanford leaves game with back spasms

Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - Vancouver Canucks netminder Curtis Sanford left Monday's 3-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets following the first period due to back spasms.

Sanford stopped all 11 shots in the first period before being replaced by Cory Schneider, who allowed all three goals on 18 shots in taking the loss.

The Owen Sound, Ontario native has become the go-to-goalie for Vancouver with franchise goaltender Roberto Luongo considered week-to-week with a groin injury.

Sanford owned a 3-2 mark with a 2.50 goals-against average and .916 save percentage coming into Monday's action.
