Lexington, KY (Sports Network) - Kentucky junior forward Ramon Harris was taken to the hospital after colliding with a teammate during the first half of Wednesday's 103-61 victory over Lamar.
Harris was turning to run up the floor when he collided with guard Michael Porter, the two appeared to bang heads and both teammates fell to the floor. Harris tried to get up but fell back down and stayed down for several minutes before leaving on a stretcher.
"I feel bad for both guys," said Kentucky head coach Billy Gillispie. "Those are my kids out there on the court and you feel helpless that you can't help them. But we have great people who can, so you hope and pray that they are going to be ok."
Harris was alert and undergoing tests at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center; he also had movement in all of his extremities, according to a team spokesman.
Porter also had trouble getting up after the collision but was able to walk off the court with an ice pack over his left eye. He received 10 stitches over the eye and returned to the bench but did not play.
