(Sports Network) - Two of the NBA's worst teams tangle in the Twin Cities Wednesday as the Minnesota Timberwolves host the Oklahoma City Thunder at Target Center.
Both clubs have been showing signs of life recently, however.
The Wolves won their third straight game for the first time this season on Tuesday when Randy Foye nailed a game-deciding three-pointer and got a block on the other end in the final 40.6 seconds, giving Minnesota a 94-87 triumph against Memphis at FedEx Forum.
Foye ended with 23 points, Al Jefferson logged 19 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks while Craig Smith and Ryan Gomes contributed 15 and 14 points, respectively, in the victory.
Sebastian Telfair narrowly missed a double-double with 10 points and nine assists for the T'Wolves, who last won three consecutive games from January 12-15, 2007, nearly two years ago.
Minnesota, which had just four wins at Christmas, has won five of its last seven games after enduring a 13-game losing streak.
The Thunder, meanwhile, topped the New York Knicks, 107-99, in Oklahoma City on Tuesday as Jeff Green and Kevin Durant both scored 27 points.
Durant also hauled in 12 rebounds for the Thunder, who have won two of three overall. Rookie Russell Westbrook ended with 22 points and nine assists, while Desmond Mason logged 13 points.
The two teams have split a pair of games in Oklahoma City this season with the T-Wolves winning 105-103 in the most recent encounter on November 28. Overall, Minnesota, which is just 4-12 at Target Center, has won two of the last three games in the series. The Thunder are a miserable 1-15 on the road this year.
