Tisdale, Illinois top Michigan

Champaign, IL (Sports Network) - Mike Tisdale scored 24 points on 10-of-12 shooting, as Illinois upended 25th-ranked Michigan, 66-51.

Demetri McCamey finished with 17 points and dished out five assists for the Fighting Illini (15-2, 3-1 Big Ten), who have won nine of their last 10 games, with the lone setback coming in Ann Arbor on January 4. Trent Meacham chipped in 11 points for Illinois, which shot 47.8 percent from the field while limiting Michigan to 32.2 percent.

Manny Harris was the only player to reach double digits in scoring for the Wolverines (13-4, 3-2), totaling 20 points in a losing effort.

The visiting Wolverines emerged from an evenly played first half with a 31-30 edge on the scoreboard, but Tisdale followed a Calvin Brock three-pointer with two free throws and a tip-in to give Illinois a nine-point lead at 50-41 with about 8 1/2 minutes remaining in the contest.

After Harris drained a three-pointer to close the gap to 52-45, the Fighting Illini pulled away with an 8-0 burst and held on for the victory.
