Wizards F Howard out at least six months following surgery

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Washington Wizards forward Josh Howard underwent successful surgery to repair a torn left ACL, the club announced on Tuesday.

Howard, who sustained the injury in a game against the Bulls on February 22, is expected to make a full recovery in six to eight months.

The Wake Forest product was acquired by Washington prior to the trade deadline in a seven-player deal that sent forward Caron Butler to the Mavericks. In 35 games this season with the Mavs and Wizards, Howard averaged 12.7 points and 3.6 rebounds.
