(Sports Network) - Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers will hit the road for a season-long nine-game trip this evening, when they take on the Detroit Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
The Lakers will visit Detroit, Toronto, Washington, New Jersey, Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, Charlotte and Minnesota on the trek. They have lost two in a row on the road and own an 11-8 record as the guest this season.
Los Angeles ended a three-game losing streak with Tuesday's 120-109 victory over the New York Knicks at the Staples Center. Bryant finished with 24 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds, while Sasha Vujacic scored 12 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter to lift LA to victory.
Lamar Odom chipped in 22 points and 12 boards in a winning effort. In injury news for the Lakers, forward Luke Walton (hip) is questionable for Thursday's game against Detroit.
Meanwhile, the Central Division-leading Pistons will begin a five-game homestand on Thursday versus the Lakers, Mavericks, Heat, Trail Blazers and Bobcats. They are a solid 15-4 at home this season and have won three in a row overall, including Tuesday's 110-104 victory over division-rival Indiana.
Rasheed Wallace recorded 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Tayshaun Prince contributed 17 points for the Pistons. Richard Hamilton added 15 points and both Chauncey Billups and Jarvis Hayes tallied 13 points.
Thursday's game between Los Angeles and Detroit is the second and final meeting of the regular season. The Lakers posted a 103-91 win on November 16 this season at the Staples Center, as Odom scored 25 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to pace the Lakers. Bryant scored 19 points in the triumph.
Detroit has won six of eight and seven of the last 10 meetings with Los Angeles, which has dropped five straight in the Motor City.
