(Sports Network) - The Atlanta Hawks shoot for their third straight win tonight, when they resume a four-game homestand versus the Los Angeles Lakers at Philips Arena.
The Hawks are 2-0 so far on the homestand and recorded a 96-91 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night. Josh Childress scored 21 points and pulled down six rebounds, as the Hawks rallied from a 20-point deficit in the first quarter for the win.
Josh Smith poured in 19 points, dished out nine assists, blocked nine shots and grabbed six boards for the Hawks, who improved to 13-9 as the host this season. Joe Johnson scored 18 points in a winning effort.
Atlanta will close out the homestand versus Cleveland on Friday.
Los Angeles, meanwhile, will try for its fourth straight win when it continues a nine-game road trip tonight in Atlanta. The Lakers are 3-1 so far on the trip and 14-19 away from home this season.
In Tuesday's 105-90 victory over the New Jersey Nets at the Izod Center, Pau Gasol scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in his Lakers debut. The Lakers acquired Gasol last Friday from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for three players, the draft rights to Marc Gasol and first-round picks in 2008 and 2010.
Derek Fisher added a season-high 28 points for the Lakers, while Vladimir Radmanovic chipped in 16 points and Lamar Odom had 14 and 15 boards. Kobe Bryant finished with just six points on 3-of-13 shooting after suffering a finger injury to his shooting hand in the second quarter. It was the first time since January 5, 2007 that the Lakers superstar failed to score in double figures, a span of 93 games.
Bryant is expected to play on Wednesday against the Hawks.
The Lakers will also visit Orlando, Miami, Charlotte and Minnesota on the current road trip.
Wednesday's game between LA and Atlanta is the first of two meetings this season. The Lakers are slated to host the Hawks on February 19 at the Staples Center.
The Lakers won both matchups last year and have won six of the last nine encounters with Atlanta. Los Angeles has won four of the last six contests at Atlanta.
