(Sports Network) - The slumping Charlotte Bobcats will try to put the brakes on a seven-game skid this evening, when they close out a short homestand versus the Atlanta Hawks.

The Bobcats opened the brief two-game homestand with Monday's 106-97 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, as Raymond Felton poured in a season-best 29 points and handed out eight assists in a losing cause.

Nazr Mohammed added a season-high 22 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for Charlotte, which has dropped seven straight overall and five in a row at home. The Bobcats are 14-16 as the host this season.

On the injury front for the Bobcats, forward Gerald Wallace (foot) is expected to miss at least one week. Guard Derek Anderson (knee) missed Monday's game against the Lakers and is doubtful for Wednesday's contest. Forward Jason Richardson is probable with a sprained left ankle.

Atlanta, meanwhile, will try to put the brakes on a three-game slide when they open a six-game road trip on Wednesday versus the Bobcats. In Tuesday's 94-90 setback to the Detroit Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills, Josh Smith scored 30 points for Atlanta, which will also visit the Lakers, Kings, Warriors, Jazz and Spurs.

Al Horford ended with 12 points and 16 rebounds in a losing cause.

The Hawks have dropped four in a row on the road and are 6-16 away from Philips Arena this season.

Wednesday's game between Atlanta and Charlotte is the third of four meetings this season. The Hawks are 2-0 so far this season and are scheduled to visit Charlotte Bobcats Arena on March 7.

Charlotte has won eight of 12 and nine of the 14 meetings.

Atlanta has lost three straight and five of the six meetings at Charlotte.
