(Sports Network) - The San Antonio Spurs will return to the venue where they captured the fourth NBA title in franchise history, as they wrap up a nine-game road trip against the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight at Quicken Loans Arena.
The Spurs swept the Cavs during last year's NBA Finals, and won the NBA championship with an 83-82 victory in Game 4 of the best-of-seven series at Cleveland. The Cavaliers, though, earned a measure of revenge with a 90-88 triumph in the first meeting this season on January 17 at the AT&T Center.
Cleveland beat the Spurs on the road for just the second time in the last 18 regular season matchups, but San Antonio has won 10 of 16 and 20 of the last 28 meetings. The Spurs have lost their last two trips to Cleveland in the regular season.
San Antonio is 5-3 so far on the current road trip and 13-12 away from home this season. In Monday's 93-88 victory over the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre, Manu Ginobili scored a game-high 34 points and pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds in the win.
Tim Duncan scored 22 points and grabbed 13 boards for his 30th double-double of the season in a winning effort. San Antonio is two games off the lead in the Southwest standings.
The Cavaliers, meanwhile, will continue their new year surge when they open a short homestand versus San Antonio and Houston on Wednesday. They are 15-8 at home this season and posted a 118-111 triumph over the Orlando Magic on Monday at Amway Arena.
Larry Hughes scored a season-high 40 points, including 23 in the third quarter, to lead the way. LeBron James finished with 29 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds for Cleveland, which has won two of its last three games.
In injury news for the Cavs, guard Daniel Gibson is questionable for Wednesday's game with a strained right hamstring.
