(Sports Network) - The Boston Celtics will try to pick up a win on their current five-game road trip out west, as they take on the Portland Trail Blazers tonight at the Rose Garden.
Boston is 0-3 so far on the swing after losing to Denver, Golden State and Phoenix. In Friday's 85-77 setback to the Suns at US Airways Center, Kevin Garnett had 19 points for the Celtics, who are mired in their first three-game losing streak of the season.
Rajon Rondo had 12 points and Ray Allen added 11 in defeat. Paul Pierce was held to eight points on 2-of-13 shooting for the Celtics, who entered the trip with a 16-0 record against teams from the West. Boston is now 18-8 away from Beantown this season, and will also visit the Los Angeles Clippers.
Portland is back at the Rose Garden, where it is 21-7 this season.
The Trail Blazers have lost six of their last seven games, and suffered a 99-87 loss to the Seattle SuperSonics on Friday in the back end of a home-and- home series at KeyArena.
Travis Outlaw scored 26 points and LaMarcus Aldridge added 23 and eight rebounds before fouling out in defeat. Brandon Roy finished with 19 points, six boards and five assists for Portland.
Boston posted a 100-90 win over the Blazers on January 16 this season at TD Banknorth Garden. It has won five in a row and six of the last seven encounters with Portland.
