(Sports Network) - The Boston Celtics are back at home after their trip out west, and will open a five-game homestand tonight versus LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers at TD Banknorth Garden.
Boston went 2-3 on its five-game swing and has won two straight since a season-high three-game losing streak. The Celtics will also welcome Charlotte, Atlanta, Detroit and Chicago to Beantown, and are 23-4 as the host in 2007-08. They have also won five in a row at home.
In Monday's 104-76 blowout of the Los Angeles Clippers in the finale of the road trip at the Staples Center, Paul Pierce led a balanced Boston attack with 17 points and Ray Allen had 15 points and seven assists.
Kevin Garnett posted 11 points for the Celtics, who outscored the Clippers by a 59-40 margin in the second half. James Posey totaled 17 points and five rebounds off the bench.
Cleveland, meanwhile, had its three-game winning streak halted with Tuesday's 105-102 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in the opener of a short two-game road trip at the Bradley Center. Michael Redd's long three-pointer at the buzzer lifted the Bucks to victory.
LeBron James had 35 points and six assists for the Cavaliers, who lost despite getting Anderson Varejao back in the lineup. Varejao, who had missed the last 13 games due to a sprained left ankle, had only six points and six rebounds.
Wally Szczerbiak had 13 points for the Cavs, who are 15-15 away from Quicken Loans Arena this season. In injury news for Cleveland, center Zydrunas Ilgauskas missed Tuesday's game with an upper respiratory infection, and is questionable against Boston.
Wednesday's showdown between the Cavs and Celtics is the fourth and final meeting of the regular season. Cleveland leads the season series, 2-1, and has won nine of 11 and 11 of the last 14 meetings with Boston.
The Cavaliers have lost two straight and 14 of 18 trips to TD Banknorth Garden.
