Minnesota Timberwolves (12-44) at Cleveland Cavaliers (32-26), 7:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Cleveland Cavaliers will try to shake off a two-game slide when they open a short homestand tonight versus the Minnesota Timberwolves at Quicken Loans Arena.

The Cavs will also host the Chicago Bulls and are 17-10 as the host this season. They have won two in a row at Quicken Loans Arena.

Cleveland suffered its second straight loss with Wednesday's 92-87 setback to the Eastern Conference-leading Boston Celtics at TD Banknorth Garden. LeBron James overcame a right ankle injury to score a game-high 26 points and pull down eight rebounds, pushing him over 10,000 points for his career. In just his fifth NBA season, the 23-year old James became the youngest player in league history to reach that plateau, breaking the mark set by Kobe Bryant in 2004. Bryant was 24 at the time.

James is expected to play Friday night versus the lowly T'Wolves.

Delonte West and Wally Szczerbiak scored 20 and 12 points, respectively, but Cleveland shot just 38 percent as a team in Boston. The Cavs are 3-4 over their last seven games overall.

Minnesota has lost three of its last four games, and will close out a brief two-game road trip on Friday. The Timberwolves are an NBA-worst 2-24 on the road this season and have dropped 20 of the last 21 games away from the Target Center.

In the opener of the trek on Wednesday at Toronto, Al Jefferson scored 23 points and Rashad McCants added 19 in the 107-85 setback for the Timberwolves, who have dropped eight of 10 overall.

Cleveland and Minnesota are meeting for the second and final time this season. In a 97-86 Cavaliers victory on November 21 at the Target Center, James poured in 45 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out five assists. Cleveland has won four straight after losing the last two meetings.

Minnesota has lost two of its last three on the road in this series.
