(Sports Network) - The Sacramento Kings will close out a brief two-game homestand tonight, when they welcome the Los Angeles Clippers to ARCO Arena.
The Kings are 23-13 as the host this season, and opened the homestand with Tuesday's 99-98 victory over the Houston Rockets. Ron Artest registered 30 points and five steals, while Kevin Martin finished with 27 points for the Kings, who have won two straight and three of their last four games.
Mikki Moore ended with 11 points and Brad Miller chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds in a winning effort. In injury news for the Kings, guard Francisco Garcia (knee) is probable against the Clippers.
Los Angeles will conclude a short two-game road trip tonight, and is 10-27 away from the Staples Center this season. In the opener of the trek on Wednesday at Seattle, Al Thornton had 21 points and 10 rebounds to overshadow the return of Clippers forward Elton Brand in a 102-84 victory at KeyArena.
Brand injured his left Achilles tendon on August 3 during a routine workout, and underwent surgery on August 7. He was not expected to play until this evening, but returned in the Clippers' win over SuperSonics. Brand, who led LA in scoring, rebounding and blocks last season, posted 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting, pulled down five rebounds and handed out three assists.
Corey Maggette tallied 20 points, six boards and three assists to help the Clippers end an eight-game slide as the guest.
LA and Sacramento are playing the fourth and final meeting of the season on Thursday, and the Clippers have won the first three matchups so far. The Clippers have won five of the last six contests in this series.
The Clippers have won two straight at ARCO Arena after losing their previous 17 games as the visitor in this series.
