(Sports Network) - The slumping New Jersey Nets try to keep their slim playoff hopes alive, as they welcome the playoff-bound Toronto Raptors tonight to the Izod Center.
The Nets are four games behind No. 8 Atlanta in the Eastern Conference playoff race. New Jersey has six games left on its schedule.
Toronto is No. 7 in the East standings and is one game behind Philadelphia and Washington.
The Raptors are 2-0 against the Nets this season. These two teams have split the last six meetings at New Jersey.
Toronto will host the Nets on April 11 at Air Canada Centre.
New Jersey has dropped four in a row. On Friday, Antonio McDyess scored 19 points and Rasheed Wallace collected 17 points and eight rebounds as Detroit crushed the Nets, 106-87, at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Richard Jefferson scored 15 for the Nets, who dropped their fourth in a row New Jersey, which played without Vince Carter (right ankle), was 1-of-12 from three-point range.
Carter, who is averaging 21.5 points per game this season, is doubtful for tonight's contest.
The Nets are 19-20 at home this season. After tonight's game, they will embark on a three-game road trip. New Jersey will visit Cleveland, Toronto and Milwaukee on the upcoming swing.
Toronto tries to halt a two-game losing streak. Jason Richardson scored 27 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and handed out six assists to lead the Charlotte Bobcats to a 105-100 win over the Raptors.
Rasho Nesterovic scored a season-high 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Raptors, who have dropped three of their last four games overall. Chris Bosh had 23 points and eight boards, while T.J. Ford dished out a season-high 14 assists in defeat.
The Raptors, who have dropped seven of their last eight as the visitor, are 16-22 on the road this season. They will host the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday at Air Canada Centre.
