(Sports Network) - The disappointing Chicago Bulls try to win back-to-back games when they welcome the playoff-bound Washington Wizards tonight to the United Center.

The teams split a pair of contests this season. The Wizards defeated the Bulls, 97-91, on February 29 in the Windy City, but have still lost six of seven on the road against Chicago.

Ben Gordon scored 24 points and hit several clutch free throws down the stretch, to lead the Bulls to a 101-98 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday at Quicken Loans Arena.

Larry Hughes poured in 25 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out nine assists in the win over Cleveland, Luol Deng and Andres Nocioni both scored 15 for Chicago, which has won two of its last three games overall.

Chicago is 18-19 at home this season. After tonight's contest, the Bulls will embark on a two-game road trip. They will visit Miami on Tuesday and Orlando on Wednesday.

Washington is tied with Philadelphia for No. 5 in the Eastern Conference playoff race. On Friday, Caron Butler scored 29 points as the Wizards clinched a playoff spot for a fourth consecutive season with a 109-95 win over the lowly Miami Heat at the Verizon Center.

Andray Blatche had 17 points and seven rebounds off the bench, while Brendan Haywood finished with 14 and eight boards for the Wizards, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Gilbert Arenas scored 13 points and dished out eight assists in his second game back after missing 66 games following knee surgery.

The Wizards, who have dropped two in a row as the visitor, are 17-21 on the road this season. They will return home to host the Boston Celtics on Wednesday at the Verizon Center.
