(Sports Network) - The fourth-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers attempt to bounce back from an embarrassing loss, as they visit the fifth-seeded Washington Wizards this afternoon at the Verizon Center for Game 4 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinals series.
Cleveland leads this best-of-seven series, 2-1. Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday at Quicken Loans Arena.
On Thursday, DeShawn Stevenson drained five three-pointers and led a balanced Washington attack with 19 points, as the Wizards blew out Cleveland, 108-72, for a much-needed Game 3 win at the Verizon Center.
Roger Mason tallied 18 points, Caron Butler netted 17, Antawn Jamison scored 15 and Brendan Haywood ended with 14 points for the Wizards, who shot 52.1 percent from the field while holding the Cavs to 39.7 percent from the floor.
Superstar LeBron James had 22 points for the Cavaliers, while Devin Brown was the only other Cleveland player in double figures with 10 points. It was the largest margin of defeat in Cavs postseason history and halted an eight-game postseason victory streak over the Wizards.
On the injury front for Washington, star guard Gilbert Arenas is questionable. He injured his surgically repaired left knee during the first half of Game 3. Arenas scored two points in 10 minutes of action in the victory.
Washington has dropped two of its last three Game 4s in the postseason, while the Cavaliers have won four of their last five Games 4s.
The Cavaliers have defeated Washington two straight years in the opening round of the playoffs. They were seeded No. 2 last year and swept the seventh-seeded Wizards in the quarterfinals of the conference playoffs. The year before, Cleveland needed six games to dispose of the Wizards. Led by James last season, the Cavs breezed past Washington before beating both New Jersey and Detroit in six games to represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA finals against San Antonio. However, the Spurs broke out the brooms on Cleveland with a sweep for their fourth NBA title in nine years.
During the regular season, the teams split four contests as both clubs won a pair of games at home.
