Philadelphia 76ers (22-37) at Atlanta Hawks (38-21), 7 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Atlanta Hawks All-Star Joe Johnson is approaching a career milestone and will most likely reach it tonight versus the Philadelphia 76ers in the opener of a brief two-game homestand at Philips Arena.

Johnson leads the Hawks in points (21.7) and assists (4.6), and is 21 points shy of 12,000 for his career. The first Atlanta player to start an All-Star game since Dikembe Mutombo in 1997-98, Johnson recorded 14 points and nine rebounds in Monday's 116-92 win at Chicago.

Josh Smith, the only player in the league this season averaging at least 15.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg and 4.0 apg, led the charge with 17 points and a season-high 18 rebounds, while Jamal Crawford came off the bench to net 21 points for the Hawks, who have won two straight and four of their last five games.

"Smooth [Josh Smith] was tremendous tonight," Atlanta coach Mike Woodson said. "Back-to-back games and the energy he brought to the table was unbelievable. It got everybody going right from the start."

The Hawks sit two games behind Orlando for the Southeast Division lead and two games behind the Magic for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference standings. Atlanta will also host Golden State and is 23-7 at home.

Philadelphia will try to stop a three-game slide Wednesday in Dixie and is coming off Monday's 126-105 blowout loss to Orlando at the Wachovia Center.

Rookie Jrue Holiday posted a career-high 23 points -- 15 in the first quarter -- and Andre Iguodala added 19 for the Sixers, who received 17 points from Thaddeus Young in a losing effort. Over the past 11 games, Young is averaging 14.8 points on 57.0 percent shooting. Lou Williams ended with 13 points and seven assists, while Samuel Dalembert had 12 points and 11 boards. Williams is averaging 17.2 points in his last nine contests.

Dalembert has recorded a double-double in each of the past two games after not having any the nine games prior. Philadelphia announced this week that Allen Iverson will not play again this season to tend to his sick daughter, and forward Elton Brand will miss tonight's game with right Achilles tendinitis.

"After discussing the situation with Allen, we have come to the conclusion that he will not return to the Sixers for the remainder of the season, as he no longer wishes to be a distraction to the organization and teammates that he loves very deeply," team President and General Manager Ed Stefanski said. "It has been very difficult for Allen and the team to maintain any consistency as he tries to balance his career with his personal life."

Atlanta will try for another win this season against the Sixers after beating them, 100-86, back on November 27 in the City of Brotherly Love. The Hawks have won five of the previous eight matchups between the teams.
