Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Carl Landry scored 22 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead the Houston Rockets over the Indiana Pacers, 106-103, at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Tracy McGrady poured in 19 points and dished out nine assists for Houston, who have won two in a row and six of seven overall. Yao Ming tallied 17 points and 12 boards, while Shane Battier totaled 13 points.

Danny Granger scored 22 points for Indiana, which has dropped five in a row and six of seven overall. Shawne Williams contributed 17 points and Mike Dunleavy gave 14. Jeff Foster had 13 points to go along with his 17 rebounds.

After missing the last three games with a bum knee, Jamaal Tinsley contributed eight rebounds in defeat.

Landry's jumper put the Rockets ahead by two with 1:29 left to play.

With 56.1 ticks left, the ball was inbounded to Travis Diener, who maneuvered through the defense and managed to misfire off the back of the rim. Landry grabbed the defensive rebound and was fouled immediately, though he only hit 1-of-2 from the line to give the Rockets a 104-101 cushion.

Driving through a slew of defenders, Dunleavy connected on a layup during Indiana's ensuing possession to pull the Pacers within one point with 32 seconds remaining.

The Rockets then brought the ball upcourt and lost their possession on a bad pass.

Diener missed on a jumper with just over seven seconds left and Battier was fouled after he pulled down the board. A 2-for-2 showing from the charity stripe put Houston ahead 106-103.

With one last chance to tie it up, Dunleavy launched a three-pointer that resulted in an air-ball, as the Rockets earned the victory.

"We just fell short," Tinsley said. "We had a good open look on the last shot and we just didn't make it. We've just got to come out and play 48 minutes of basketball. We've got to short circuit our breakdowns on both sides of the ball."

Luther Head's three-pointer with 21 seconds left in the first frame gave the Rockets a 25-23 advantage heading into the second.

Diener's jumper, followed by a Williams layup and a free throw from the aforementioned, closed out a 5-0 Indiana run to end the first half. The surge pulled the Pacers within a point, 54-53, heading into the intermission.

Granger's three-point play with 7:10 showing on the clock capped a 7-0 Pacers run that knotted the game up at 61. Foster's reverse layup sparked the run and a Troy Murphy jumper accounted for the other two points.

The lead see-sawed until a Kareem Rush turnaround fadeaway from the left baseline tied the game with just over 30 ticks left in the third stanza. The teams would head into the final 12 minutes dead-even at 79-79.

After Yao gave the Rockets a two-point advantage with a jumper, Rush's trey was the catalyst for a 9-2 Pacers run that gave Indiana an 88-83 lead with eight minutes to play.

Five straight Landry points served as the equalizer for Houston just over 30 seconds later.

The teams exchanged baskets and found themselves even at 101 with 2:25 on the clock.

"It was a tough game," Rockets head coach Rick Adelman said. "They hung in there and we did what we had to do down the stretch. I have to give our guys credit. I though Carl (Landry) really played well in the second quarter."
