Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - Dwight Howard scored 21 points and raked in 13 rebounds, and the Orlando Magic routed the flailing New Jersey Nets, 100-84.

Rashard Lewis drained 4-of-8 three pointers on his way to a 19-point, six- rebound game, while Hedo Turkoglu had 19 points and six assists for the Magic, who have won five of six and eight of 10. Jameer Nelson added 11 points and eight assists off the bench for Orlando.

Vince Carter scored 18 points for the Nets, who dropped their third straight and their 13th out of 16. Jason Kidd had 13 points, seven assists, and six rebounds, and Bostjan Nachbar added 13 points for New Jersey.

Orlando pulled away early in the third quarter, and New Jersey never really answered. Howard started the second half with a dunk, and Lewis sank back-to- back three-pointers, posting the Magic to a 55-38 lead. Orlando led 75-58 entering the fourth quarter.

New Jersey trailed in double figures the rest of the way as the Magic breezed to victory.

The Nets looked ready to break out of their slump early, as Carter scored six points in a 15-4 New Jersey run to start the game. Orlando rallied behind 11 points by Brian Cook and eight points by Keyon Dooling, and the Magic cut the deficit to 24-22 by the end of the first.

"We've just got to come out better. I think the bench did a great job tonight, helping us bring more energy," said Howard.

New Jersey scored six straight to open the second quarter, pushing their lead to 30-22, but the Magic answered with a 10-0 run. Lewis drained two three- pointers on the run, which kicked off a 25-8 stretch to close out the first half, and the Magic took a 47-38 lead into the break.

"We have had these types of games where we have started really well, and then the other team makes a run and we have just folded," said Kidd.
