NBA Game Summary - New Jersey at Charlotte

Final Score: New Jersey 104 - Charlotte 90

Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - Jason Kidd notched his 12th triple-double of the season, scoring 19 points, dishing out 13 assists and grabbing 11 rebounds as the New Jersey Nets took down the Charlotte Bobcats, 104-90.

The triple-double was the 99th of Kidd's career and his 61st in a New Jersey uniform. Richard Jefferson added a game-high 23 points for the Nets, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Vince Carter added 18 points and nine boards, while Josh Boone contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds in the winning effort.

"We have a bunch of prideful guys and we were very disappointed in the way we've played," said Nets head coach Lawrence Frank. "This was just one game, and it's about consistency from possession to possession, quarter to quarter, and game to game."

Gerald Wallace scored 21 points for the Bobcats in his return to the lineup after missing the last two games with a right foot sprain. Emeka Okafor scored 10 points and corralled 16 boards for Charlotte, which dropped its fifth straight decision.

Kidd dominated the first quarter, scoring 12 points and grabbing nine boards as the Nets led by as many as 11 and took a 24-18 lead into the second.

The Bobcats slowly chipped away at the New Jersey lead in the second quarter, closing to within one at 39-38 on Jason Richardson's three with 3:20 left before halftime. However, Kidd answered with a three of his own and the Nets headed into the locker room ahead 46-41.

New Jersey extended its lead to double digits when a three from Carter just before the midway point of the third quarter gave the Nets a 60-50 lead that rose to as many as 12 points before Charlotte finally began reeling the deficit back, getting to within five on a jumper from Earl Boykins with just under 30 seconds left in the third.

Jefferson then hit a pair of free throws with 10 seconds left and the Nets took a 73-66 lead heading into the final stanza.

Antoine Wright scored the first four points of the fourth quarter as the Nets immediately stretched their lead back to 11.

New Jersey continued to pull away in the quarter, using three straight treys from Kidd, Carter and Jefferson to push the lead to 16 with just under five minutes to play.

Charlotte never got closer than nine points in the fourth quarter, and the Nets led by as many as 18 down the stretch as they ran away with the victory in the final 12 minutes.

"We stunk up the house," said Bobcats guard Raymond Felton. "We just had a horrible night. We didn't play with any intensity, and we didn't play with any fire or passion."
