Final Score: LA Clippers 80 - Philadelphia 101
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Louis Williams scored 18 points off the bench to lead the Philadelphia 76ers past the Los Angeles Clippers, 101-80, at the Wachovia Center.
Andre Miller poured in 17 points and doled out nine assists for the Sixers, who have won three in a row and five of seven overall. Samuel Dalembert tallied 16 points, while Andre Iguodala totaled 15 points and seven assists.
Willie Green had 11 points in the win.
Corey Maggette netted 26 points for the Clippers, who lost for the fourth time in their last six contests. Cuttino Mobley added 19 points, while Al Thronton gave 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The Sixers led just 29-25 after the first 12 minutes, but an Evans dunk with 8:49 left in the second quarter sparked a 17-6 Philadelphia run. The surge helped send the Sixers into their locker room up 59-40.
An Iguodala basket with just over a minute elapsed in the third gave the Sixers a 20-point lead, 62-42.
"When we are able to get out in the open court, get to our big guys down on the floor, it gets them involved in the offense as well," Sixers coach Maurice Cheeks said. "When we get in the open court we are just a lot more effective and we get easier shots. Our fast break points stand out. It's been a major factor in our wins so far."
A Maggette layup followed by a Mobley three-point play set-off an 11-4 Los Angeles run that brought the Clippers as close as 66-53 with just under 8 1/2 minutes left in the third stanza.
Philadelphia's lead hovered around the mid-teens for the rest of the third and the club would eventually take an 82-66 lead into the final frame.
The teams exchanged baskets for the better part of the fourth quarter, until an Iguodala finger roll and Dalembert dunk gave the Sixers a 96-76 cushion with 3:38 to play.
The Clippers never pulled closer than 18 points down the stretch.
