Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) - Tayshaun Prince scored 21 points and Richard Hamilton added 18 as the Detroit Pistons won their eighth straight game by routing the Charlotte Bobcats, 113-87, at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Rodney Stuckey donated 13 points and Chauncey Billups 11 for the Pistons, while Antonio McDyess grabbed 12 rebounds to go along with eight points. Detroit shot 48.2 percent while limiting Charlotte to 38.9 percent.

Jason Richardson scored 27 points for the Bobcats, who have dropped nine of 11. Raymond Felton added 14 points and Nazr Muhammad 10 for Charlotte, which was outrebounded 46-35.

Charlotte came out ice cold misfiring on 12 of its first 14 shots leading to an early 20-point deficit. Prince's three with 2:49 left in the first quarter put the Pistons ahead 27-7.

The Bobcats never threatened the rest of the way.

"The way we started out we were about ready to shoot 44 in those first three, four minutes," Pistons coach Flip Saunders said of the three-pointers. "Most of the threes, the ones we made, were mostly out of the corner except for Chauncey's couple on the top. We attacked offensively, they fled at situations and we reversed the ball and had some open looks."

Charlotte trailed 29-13 after opening 12 minutes and were unsuccessful at trying to cut into the deficit in the second quarter. The Pistons led 55-38 at the intermission.

"The first quarter we got off to a really slow start, and a lot of it was the turnovers early when we didn't get shot opportunities," Bobcats coach Sam Vincent said. "From those turnovers they (the Pistons) went down and scored. This Detroit Pistons team is too good to spot them points."

It was more of the same in the third quarter as Detroit stretched its lead to 83-62 heading into the final stanza.

Felton's driving layup with 6:52 remaining pulled the Bobcats within 89-77. Detroit, though, responded by scoring the next seven points.
