NBA Game Summary - New York at Washington

Final Score: New York 113 - Washington 100

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Jamal Crawford scored 21 points, seven of which came in overtime, and doled out five assists to lead the New York Knicks past the Washington Wizards, 113-100, at Verizon Center.

New York set a team record by scoring 23 points in the extra session.

Zach Randolph poured in 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Knicks, who won for the second time in their last three games. Nate Robinson, Quentin Richardson and David Lee all gave 19 points in the win.

Antawn Jamison scored 20 points and snagged 13 rebounds for the Wizards, who have dropped nine of their last 10 games. Roger Mason added 15 points, DeShawn Stevenson had 14, while Antonio Daniels and Nick Young recorded 12 points apiece. Andray Blatche tallied 10 points before fouling out in defeat.

A Robinson three pulled New York within 90-89 with 1:23 showing in the fourth quarter, and after stopping Washington on its next possession, Crawford was fouled driving to the hoop. He hit 1-of-2 to tie the game with 19.5 ticks left.

The Wizards inbounded the ball after a timeout and Daniels held the ball for the final shot. He was unable to connect on a long jumper as time expired, and both clubs headed for overtime.

New York opened the extra frame on an 11-0 run in the first 2:39. Lee recorded five of the points, while Richardson and Robinson hit threes to give the Knicks a 101-90 advantage.

Washington didn't get closer than eight points the rest of the way, as New York shot 6-for-6 from the field in overtime.

"We made shots," Knicks head coach Isiah Thomas said. "When you shoot the ball and make shots that is what you are hoping for. Nate Robinson caught fire, Jamal (Crawford) made a couple of shots, Quentin (Richardson) made shots, and before you know it we got ourselves into a nice offensive rhythm."

Robinson also added eight boards and five assists.

Despite eight turnovers, the Knicks were ahead 23-20 after 12 minutes of play.

A 16-7 Washington run in the final minutes of the second stanza gave the Wizards a 50-46 lead at the break.

Crawford's layup with 1.7 seconds on the clock capped a 6-0 New York run to end the third frame. The surge pulled the Knicks within 70-67 heading into the fourth quarter.

A free throw from New York's Fred Jones made it a two-point game, then a Young jumper, a Mason free throw and a bucket from Blatche gave the Wizards a 75-68 cushion with just under 10 minutes to go.

After exchanging baskets for the next few minutes, a Crawford bucket and six free throws from Lee and Richardson made it 81-80 with about five minutes to play in regulation.

Washington opened an 89-82 lead on two Mason free throws, but Robinson's trey cut New York's deficit to four points just past the three-minute mark.

"We didn't play defense," Stevenson said. "Guys had wide open threes and uncontested shots. They got some dunks and and-ones. It's easy to shoot one hundred percent when the defense isn't playing the way they are supposed to."
