Final Score: Denver 109 - Milwaukee 115
Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Michael Redd scored a season-high 42 points to lead the Milwaukee Bucks in a 115-109 win over the Denver Nuggets at the Bradley Center.
Maurice Williams poured in 26 points and doled out seven assists for the Bucks, who won for just the second time in their last seven contests. Charlie Villanueva chipped in 14 points and seven boards, while Andrew Bogut scored 12 points and grabbed 20 rebounds.
Allen Iverson netted 26 points for the Nuggets, who have dropped three of their last four games. Carmelo Anthony contributed 25 points and seven boards, while J.R. Smith added 20 points.
Kenyon Martin had 15 points and 14 rebounds in defeat.
Anthony tied the game at 104 for Denver with a three-point play and 1:19 left in regulation.
After Redd hit two from the line, Villanueva stole the ball from Anthony and drained a pair from the charity stripe that put the Bucks up 108-104 with 39 ticks left.
On Denver's ensuing possession, Bogut grabbed the rebound off a missed Smith three-pointer, which all but sealed the deal for Milwaukee, as Smith was forced to foul.
The Nuggets held a 30-19 lead after 12 minutes of play, and a 64-50 advantage at the half.
"They had a better half than we did," Iverson said. "They played better. We couldn't stop them defensively and we couldn't get anything going offensively. It's frustrating because this was a game we should have won."
A Bogut layup and a Williams jumper cut Milwaukee's deficit to 10 points, 66-56, just over 2 1/2 minutes into the third quarter.
Williams hit a three , and followed it with a long two, to pull the Bucks within 70-65 moments later.
The teams exchanged buckets and a Redd layup, followed by Villanueva hitting 1-of-2 from the line, made it 75-72 with just over 5 1/2 minutes on the clock.
Denver's lead fluctuated around four and the Nuggets would eventually take an 86-82 cushion into the final frame.
After falling behind by as many as nine, the Bucks fought back and a Redd three-pointer brought Milwaukee back within four just beyond the eight-minute mark. However, Eduardo Najera would answer right back with a three that made it 99-92.
The Bucks would respond with 10 straight points to take the lead 102-99. Bogut closed out the spurt after missing a shot under the hoop, but staying with it and recording the putback layup with 3:02 remaining.
"I thought we just stood around and watched in the first half," Milwaukee head coach Larry Krystkowiak said. "We weren't very active. They had 17 fast break points to our zero."
