NBA Game Summary - Orlando at New Jersey

Final Score: Orlando 102 - New Jersey 92

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - Hedo Turkoglu scored 17 of his 25 points in the final quarter, carrying Orlando to a 102-92 victory over the New Jersey Nets.

Rashard Lewis also had 25 points and Dwight Howard totaled 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Magic, who have won three in a row and five of six. Keyon Dooling and Maurice Evans both scored 14 in the victory.

"It's not really that I wanted to wait until the fourth quarter," Turkoglu said. "In the third quarter, Rashard carried us, and we all feel we can carry it. But besides Rashard, no one was really going. I just keep myself ready all the time. When I get my name, when I get called I just go to work."

Vince Carter had 26 points and eight rebounds before fouling out for the Nets, who have lost two of their last three contests.

The Magic finally went ahead for good with seven straight points, all from Turkoglu in the fourth quarter. Josh Boone's layup tied the game for the Nets at 83 with 4:23 left, but Turkoglu came back with a finger roll layup 15 seconds later.

After Marcus Williams missed a jumper for the Nets, Turkoglu nailed a shot from beyond the arc. Richard Jefferson was then whistled for an offensive foul for the Nets, and Turkoglu's two free throws capped the run with 2:59 left for a 90-83 margin.

"He hit some tough shots," Carter said of Turkoglu. "He hit a tough three. He's a great shooter. It's just tough."

Carter's jumper had the Nets within five with 2:46 left, but New Jersey missed three shots on one possession with just over two minutes left and the Magic hit their free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.

Jefferson scored 20 points, while Boone totaled 12 points and 11 rebounds for New Jersey, which went 10-of-16 at the foul line. Conversely, the Magic were 29-of-43.

"I thought we did some good things defensively," Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said. "My only complaint was the energy level, the pace of the game. I thought it was one of the slowest-paced basketball games I've ever seen. I don't know if anyone broke into a sprint all night."

The Nets led by as many as seven in the opening quarter and held a 23-20 edge going into the second.

Keith Bogans' layup boosted the Magic to a 28-23 lead with 7:22 left, capping 12 straight Orlando points. The Magic led 44-43 at the half and they were up 70-67 going into the fourth.
