NBA Game Summary - Chicago at Indiana

Final Score: Chicago 113 - Indiana 107

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Larry Hughes shot 10-of-19 from the field, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc en route to a game-high 29 points, as the Chicago Bulls held off the Indiana Pacers, 113-107, at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Luol Deng finished with 16 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Bulls, who snapped a two-game losing streak. Ben Gordon tallied 15 points and six assists, while Drew Gooden pulled down 15 boards to go with 10 points. Joakim Noah and Andres Nocioni added 11 points apiece in the win.

"Obviously it was a huge win for us," Bulls coach Jim Boylan said. "The chemistry is coming together a little bit. The guys are really determined. This was a good competitive game with Indiana. The two teams are in the same kind of situation. Our defense still needs a little bit of work. The guys are not totally focused on the defensive end. They're not quite ready. We're going to continue to work on that."

Mike Dunleavy had 25 points for the Pacers, who are 3-13 over their last 16 games. Travis Diener ended with 22 points and nine assists, and Troy Murphy scored 19. Danny Granger donated 17 points and eight rebounds in the loss.

In a back-and-forth affair featuring 18 lead changes and 14 ties, Indiana held a slim 57-56 edge at halftime after Dunleavy converted a pair from the foul line.

Indiana created some separation in the early stages of the third, opening the frame on a 13-5 run, including two threes from Granger, to pull ahead 70-61.

With the Pacers in front 74-63 with 6:56 remaining, Chicago used a 14-2 run to grab its first lead of the quarter, at 77-76. Hughes knocked down a pair of treys and sank a jump shot during the spurt, which was culminated by Gooden's slam.

The score was deadlocked at 82 heading into the final quarter.

Chicago scored the first seven points in the fourth, and led 97-87 after Nocioni completed a three-point play.

Dunleavy then netted seven consecutive points to trim the margin to three, 97-94, but Hughes' three-pointer capped a 6-0 run and pushed the Bulls' lead back to nine, 103-94, with 5:12 to go.

Indiana missed multiple looks from three-point range down the stretch and Chicago made enough free throws to secure the win.

"The fourth quarter...turnovers and missed opportunities did us in," Pacers coach Jim O'Brien. "It's tough to lose like that. It seems like I say it quite a bit because it does happen quite a bit. We're losing basketball games in the fourth quarter. Clearly, we're not getting the job done."

The game was tied at 27 after the first quarter.
