NBA Game Summary - Orlando at Philadelphia

Final Score: Orlando 89 - Philadelphia 101

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Andre Miller scored 26 points, doled out nine assists, and grabbed six rebounds as the surging Philadelphia 76ers downed the Orlando Magic, 101-89.

Willie Green scored 26 points for the Sixers, who won their seventh straight at home. Andre Iguodala had 24 points and seven assists for Philadelphia, which has won eight of 10 overall to move into the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. The win moved the Sixers to 26-32, a half-game ahead of the idle New Jersey Nets for seventh place in the East.

Hedo Turkoglu scored 20 points and had seven boards to lead the Magic, who had won three straight and five of six. Dwight Howard had a quiet 14 points and 16 rebounds, and Rashard Lewis added 19 points for Orlando, which couldn't rebound from a rough first half in which it trailed by as many as 24 points.

The Magic were buried early by a red-hot Sixers club that seemingly couldn't miss a shot in the first quarter, and Orlando trailed by 19 at the half. Orlando chipped away, cutting the lead to 83-68 entering the fourth quarter. A 10-3 push midway through the fourth cut the Philadelphia lead to single- digits, as a Lewis three pulled the Magic within 89-80 with 5:53 left.

Philadelphia answered with a 10-2 run, though, with Green scoring five on the push, putting the game out of reach. Two Iguodala free throws closed the run, and gave the Sixers a 99-72 lead with 2:07 left.

Miller and the Sixers came storming out of the gates to start the game, as Philadelphia made 14 of its first 16 shots as a team, and opened the game with a 23-9 stretch. Miller sank 9-of-10 from the floor in the first quarter, scoring 14 points and picking up five assists, but the Magic came back late to cut the deficit to 33-25 entering the second.

The Sixers exploded for an 18-1 run midway through the second quarter. Miller closed the push with four straight free throws, the last two boosting Philly to a 53-30 lead with 4:11 left in the half. The Sixers lead bulged at 24 points late in the half before Orlando scored five straight in the last minute to cut the deficit to 61-42 at the break.

"Attention to detail at the start of the game was key for us," said Sixers head coach Maurice Cheeks. "Getting out on the fast break, pushing the basketball and getting stops."
