Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Andre Iguodala dropped a season-high 29 points to go with six assists, and the Philadelphia 76ers rolled to 100-79 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.
Iguodala sunk four of Philadelphia's season-high 11 three-pointers in the club's season-high fifth straight victory. Lou Williams and Andre Miller each doled out six assists to go with 14 and 12 points, respectively, in the convincing win.
"Guys have the green light (to shoot the three)," Sixers head coach Tony DiLeo said. "It's contagious. A few guys knock down shots and it gets contagious."
Portland's three-game winning streak came to a screeching halt after shooting just 39.4 percent from the field. Brandon Roy led the way with 27 points, while LaMarcus Aldridge logged 15 points and nine rebounds in defeat.
The Sixers more than doubled up the Blazers in the opening quarter, as Iguodala's 14 points and the club's four three-balls paved the way for a 31-15 cushion.
Philly proceeded to score the first eight points of the second quarter to jump out to a 24-point lead. Iguodala's three-ball -- the Sixers' eighth from long range in the first half -- brought the difference to 55-33 at the break.
The opening of the third resembled that of the previous quarter but with Portland inching back behind an 11-0 run. The hosts failed to hit a field goal until Marreese Speights' dunk at the 5:33 mark, and the Blazers scored the last six of the stanza to get within 69-59.
A 14-2 Sixers run early in the fourth -- highlighted by a pair of makes from behind the arc by Thaddeus Young -- rebuilt Philly's 20-point edge, and the hosts cruised from there.
Game Notes
Elton Brand, who has missed the last 13 games for the Sixers with a dislocated shoulder, returned to practice this week and his return could come as early as this weekend...Speights and Young added 13 and 11 points, respectively, for the Sixers, who also hit 19-of-21 from the free throw line...Portland committed 19 turnovers and shot just 3-for-13 from long range...Blazers guard Steve Blake left the game with a Grade 1 separation of his right shoulder.
