Greensboro, NC (Sports Network) - Trevor Booker scored 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead 22nd-ranked Clemson to an 89-67 victory over UNC Greensboro.
Milton Jennings added 14 points, while Andre Young scored 13 for the Tigers (3-0), who shot 54.5 percent from the field. They have won their three games this season by an average of 35 points. David Potter added 11 points in the victory, shooting 3-for-5 from three-point range.
Brandon Evans had 17 points to pace the Spartans (0-3), who made their home debut at Greensboro Coliseum, which is celebrating its 50th year. Ben Stywall added 13 points and six rebounds in the loss.
Clemson took control by ending the first half with a 17-2 run. Booker started it with a jumper, while Young scored six points in a row at one point. Booker then ended the rally with a free throw, and the Tigers took a 42-24 lead into the break.
Clemson continued to hold a sizable lead in the second half. Just past the midway point, Devin Booker tipped in a basket and Potter followed with a layup to make it a 69-41 game, and the visitors cruised from there.
