Seton Hall (15-6) at (6) Georgetown (17-2)

GAME NOTES: The surprising Seton Hall Pirates carry a five-game win streak into today's Big East Conference clash with the sixth-ranked Georgetown Hoyas. Seton Hall lost its first three league games and appeared destined to finish near the bottom of the Big East standings, but the last five wins have all come against conference foes, allowing the Pirates to improve to 15-6 overall and 5-3 in league play. They were most recently in action on Wednesday night when they held off Rutgers in overtime, 84-71. While Seton Hall is just 3-4 this season in true road games, the last two road tilts have resulted in wins. As for Georgetown, the Big East's top team at the moment, it is 17-2 overall and 7-1 in conference. The Hoyas have won their last four outings, including a 74-42 decision over St. John's on Wednesday. They enter this clash with a perfect 10-0 record at home and plenty of confidence. Georgetown owns a 51-38 series lead over Seton Hall.

Despite being pushed to overtime by Rutgers on Wednesday in an intense road game, Seton Hall finished the night with only eight turnovers, key to the victory. Eugene Harvey was outstanding, as he finished with 26 points, seven assists, six rebounds and three steals. Brian Laing added 23 points and six boards, while Jeremy Hazell pitched in 14 points. Jamar Nutter was the final double-digit scorer for the Pirates, as he posted 11 points. Strong defense was also key to the win, as Seton Hall permitted Rutgers to make good on only 20- of-61 field goal attempts. Overall this season, Laing is netting 19.3 ppg to go along with 7.3 rpg. Harvey is contributing 15.8 ppg, and Hazell adds 12.0 ppg. Nutter provides 10.7 ppg for the Pirates, who are generating 81.8 ppg while limiting the opposition to 77.5 ppg.

Georgetown is scoring 72.1 ppg this season on 50.7 percent shooting from the floor, and the club is limiting its opponents to 56.7 ppg on 35.2 percent field goal efficiency. The Hoyas are led offensively by Rob Hibbert, the team's 7-2 center, who is netting 13.0 ppg to go with 6.8 rpg and 37 blocks. DaJuan Summers adds 10.8 ppg to the mix, and Jonathan Wallace contributes 10.1 ppg. Summers missed the game against St. John's with an ankle injury and is listed as questionable for today's tilt. Still, the Hoyas completely dominated the Red Storm in his absence. Vernon Macklin stepped up with 18 points and Hibbert added 11 points on Wednesday. Not only did the Hoyas shoot 52.8 percent from the floor, they also limited the Red Storm to 21.3 percent shooting, a sensational defensive effort.

There is no question that Seton Hall has the talent to knock off Georgetown. Still, expect the Hoyas to take care of business at home.
