GAME NOTES: The red-hot Florida Atlantic Owls will try to continue their strong play when they battle the North Texas Mean Green this evening in a Sun Belt Conference tilt at the Super Pit.

The Owls come into this matchup riding a five-game winning streak, including an impressive 106-88 victory over FIU. With the win over the Golden Panthers, the Owls pushed their league ledger to 8-3 on the season, placing them in a tie for first place with Middle Tennessee in the East Division.

The last time the Mean Green were on the floor the team suffered a 69-64 setback to Middle Tennessee. The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for North Texas, dropping the team to 6-5 in conference play.

The Mean Green have won three of the four matchups against FAU, and that includes a 79-73 decision over the Owls in the Sun Belt Tournament last year.

Tristan Thompson led the way with 17 points in the setback, while Josh White added 13 points. George Odufuwa contributed a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Mean Green. On the season, the Mean Green have been solid at the offensive end of the floor, and are currently netting 74.4 ppg. White is currently pacing the team with 14.6 ppg and 82 assists, while Thompson is helping out with 14.0 ppg.
