Miami-Ohio (8-13) at Western Michigan (12-9)

GAME NOTES: Tonight at University Arena in Kalamazoo, the Western Michigan Broncos host the Miami-Ohio RedHawks in a Mid-American Conference tussle.

The RedHawks are coming off a 61-51 victory over Eastern Michigan, which pushed the team's league mark to 5-3 on the year. It was the fifth win in the last seven games for Miami-Ohio, which is winless in 10 games played as the visitor.

The Broncos evened their MAC record at 4-4 with an 85-70 victory over Buffalo on Monday. The win snapped the two-game losing skid for Western Michigan, which is an impressive 8-2 at University Arena this season.

The RedHawks hold a commanding 80-38 edge over Western Michigan in the all- time series, but the Broncos have won the last five matchups against Miami- Ohio at home, and 33 of the team's 38 victories in the series have occurred in Kalamazoo.

The RedHawks have not enjoyed much success offensively this season, as the team is averaging just 62.3 ppg. Kenny Hayes is the only player averaging double figures on the year, as the guard is leading the squad with 13.9 ppg. The last time the RedHawks were on the floor the team only scored 61 points, but that was enough for them to slip past Eastern Michigan. Miami-OH shot 50.0 percent from the floor and made 8-of-17 attempts from behind the arc. Antonio Ballard and Nick Winbush led the way with 11 points apiece, while Hayes struggled in the contest, finishing with just four points on a 1-of-4 showing from the field.

The Broncos were outstanding in their last matchup, as they exploded for 85 points in a win over Buffalo. Western Michigan shot a sizzling 58.5 percent from the floor and also made 11-of-22 attempts from long range. Martelle McLemore led the way with 24 points and nine rebounds, while David Kool contributed 23 points in the win. Kool has been one of the top players in the conference and comes into this game averaging an impressive 21.1 ppg. As for McLemore, he has been solid in the paint, netting 11.3 ppg, while pulling down 5.9 rpg for WMU, which as a whole is producing 70.4 ppg.

Playing outside of Oxford has been tough for the RedHawks this season, and unfortunately their road woes should continue this evening against Kool and the gang.
