The Bobcats have won four of their last five games against Toledo, and now own a comfortable 63-53 edge over the Rockets in the all-time series.
The Bobcats suffered a rough loss to Ball State in their last matchup, scoring just 66 points in an overtime bout. Ohio shot 45.5 percent from the floor, but made only 6-of-21 attempts from long range and connected on just 10-of-16 attempts from the foul line. Tommy Freeman led the way in the loss with 16 points, while Kenneth van Kempen tallied 13 points and nine rebounds. Armon Bassett added 10 points, while D.J. Cooper posted just seven points, to go along with eight assists. Bassett has been one of the best players on the floor for Ohio, as the guard is averaging 14.0 ppg. Cooper comes into this game with 13.4 ppg and has also dished out 122 assists. The team as a whole is producing a respectable 73.9 ppg, behind a 41.5 percent shooting effort.
Toledo has been unable to get anything going offensively, as the team is producing a meager 55.5 ppg behind a lackluster 41.0 percent clip. Jake Barnett is the only player averaging double figures, posting 13.3 ppg, to go along with 4.3 rpg. Toledo's poor play offensively continued in the team's recent loss to Bowling Green, as the Rockets scored just 47 points. Toledo shot 42.2 percent in the matchup, but made just 3-of-6 from the foul line. Justin Anyijong led the way with 18 points in the setback, while Barnett finished with just eight points on 3-of-12 from the field.
Even though the Rockets are home it will be very tough for them to grab a victory considering how poorly the team has played offensively. Look for the Bobcats to earn a solid win on the road this evening, keeping Toledo's winless MAC record intact.
