Weber State (14-7) at Montana (15-7)

GAME NOTES: Weber State will try to remain on top of the Big Sky Conference when the Wildcats take on the Montana Grizzlies this evening at Dahlberg Arena.

The Wildcats steam roll into this matchup with a five-game winning streak. The last time Weber State was on the floor the team grabbed an 81-59 victory over Sacramento State. With the win over Hornets, the Wildcats pushed their conference ledger to a league best 8-1 on the year.

The Grizzlies pushed their Big Sky record to 6-4 on the season with their recent, 84-64 victory over Northern Arizona. It was the fifth win in the last six games for Montana, which is an impressive 10-1 at home this season.

Earlier this season the Wildcats grabbed a 64-56 victory over Montana and now own a 57-47 victory over the Grizzlies in the all-time series.

The Wildcats were simply too tough for Sacramento State in their last matchup, as the team shot 52.5 percent from the field, and connected on 10-of-21 attempts from long range, en route to a 22-point win. Steve Panos led the way with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Damian Lillard is contributing 15 points. Lindsey Hughey posted 14 points, while Franklin Session tallied 11 points. Lillard has been the best player on the floor throughout the season, averaging 19.8 ppg, 3.5 apg and 4.1 rpg for Weber State, which is producing 77.1 ppg. Panos and Session give the team a tremendous duo in the paint, as Panos is posting 11.6 ppg and 5.5 rpg, while Session is contributing 102 ppg and 6.3 rpg.

The Grizzlies are also coming off an impressive performance, as Montana shot a sizzling 59.6 percent from the field, en route to a 20-point victory over Northern Arizona. Anthony Johnson exploded for 28 points in the win, while Will Cherry added 19 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Johnson has been the team's best option at the offensive end of the floor, as the guard is netting 17.3 ppg, to go along with 69 assists. Brian Qvale is posting 10.3 ppg from the center spot and is also grabbing a team-high 6.5 rpg. As a whole however, the Grizzlies have struggled to produce consistently at the offensive end, averaging a modest 67.6 ppg.

These are two of the best teams in the conference, and while the Wildcats are currently looking down on every other team in the Big Sky, the Grizzlies could make things a bit tighter down the stretch.
