Missouri (16-6) at Colorado (11-11)

GAME NOTES: The Missouri Tigers will try to avoid dropping back-to-back Big 12 Conference games for the first time since the 2007-08 season, as they visit the Coors Event Center in Boulder to take on the Colorado Buffaloes.

Since having their season-best nine-game win streak snapped last month, the Tigers have split their last six contests. On Wednesday night, they fell at home to Texas A&M, 77-74. Following this afternoon's tilt, Missouri will return home to take on Iowa State this Wednesday.

Colorado has fallen on tough times of late, having dropped two straight and five of its last six games. On Wednesday, the Buffaloes took top-ranked Kansas to overtime but eventually fell, 72-66. They'll try to rebound today at the Coors Event Center, where 10 of their 11 wins this season have taken place.

Missouri leads the head-to-head series, 96-52. These teams will square off again at Mizzou Arena later this month.

Missouri brought a 32-game home win streak into Wednesday night's clash with Texas A&M, a streak that spanned to the home finale of the 2007-08 campaign. Leading by as many as 11 with under 15 minutes to play, the Tigers appeared destined to make it 33 in a row. However, they were held without a basket for an agonizing span of more than 10 minutes as the Aggies assumed control. Rebounding has been an area that has plagued Mizzou at times throughout the season and that was the case on Wednesday night, as A&M held a sizeable 44-26 edge on the boards. Kim English led four Tigers in double figures with 12 points in the loss. While the Tigers have had their struggles on the glass, they've made up for it with an impressive +8.0 turnover margin, which ranks second in the nation. English is averaging a team-best 14.8 ppg on the year. Reserves Laurence Bowers (10.9) and Marcus Denmon (10.8) have made steady contributions. Bowers is shooting a team-best 59.5 percent from the field to go along with 5.9 rpg, while Denmon is shooting a healthy 44.2 percent from beyond the arc (50-of-113).

Surprisingly, Colorado had a chance to beat top-ranked Kansas at end of regulation, but the Jayhawks cut off Cory Higgins' drive to the basket to force overtime. Kansas scored the first seven points of the extra session and CU was never able to recover. While the Buffs certainly played an inspired brand of basketball on their home court, they were also aided by the fact that Kansas shot an uncharacteristic 18-of-38 at the foul line (.474). Marcus Relphorde paced CU with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Higgins tallied 14 points and seven boards, and Levi Knutson finished with 13 points off the bench. On the season, Higgins leads CU with 18.1 ppg. The Buffs have gotten a nice boost from freshman guard Alec Burks, who is shooting 53.1 percent from the floor while registering 16.3 points and a team-best 4.7 rebounds per contest. Relphorde has started all 22 games and is scoring 10.8 ppg.

Each team has enjoyed most of its success on its home court. While the Buffs put forth one of their best efforts of the season against Kansas, they need to avoid a let-down game against a formidable Missouri squad to have a chance in this one.
