Eastern Washington (6-17) at Sacramento State (8-16)

GAME NOTES: Eastern Washington will try to continue its dominance over Sacramento State when the Eagles take on the Hornets this afternoon in a Big Sky Conference bout at the Nest.

The Eagles have won the last eight meetings against Sacramento State and that includes a 79-75 victory over the Hornets earlier this season. With the recent success, Eastern Washington now owns a 24-7 edge in the all-time series.

The Eagles have been grounded over the past few weeks, and come into this game with a six-game skid. The last time EWU was on the court, the team suffered a 68-62 setback to Seattle. The Eagles have not enjoyed much success in league play, coming into this game with a 2-7 ledger in Big Sky action.

The last time the Hornets were on the floor the team suffered a 76-62 setback to Portland State. It was the sixth loss in the last seven games for Sacramento State, which is now just 2-9 in conference play.

The Eagles could not overcome their own mistakes the last time they were on the floor, as the team committed 19 turnovers, which turned into 24 points for Seattle. EWU shot 41.4 percent from the field in the matchup, but made only 3- of-20 attempts from behind the arc. Jeffrey Forbes led the way in the loss with 14 points, while Glen Dean tallied 13 points. Brandon Moore added a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds for EWU. On the season, Eastern Washington has been inconsistent at the offensive end of the floor and comes into this game netting 69.3 ppg. Dean has been the top performer, as the guard is pacing the team with 11.9 ppg and 4.3 apg.

The Hornets have enjoyed little success offensively, which would explain the team's poor record. Sacramento State is averaging just 64.0 ppg, behind a pedestrian 41.0 percent shooting effort. Sultan Toles-Bey is currently leading the team with 10.8 ppg, while Justin Eller is contributing 10.0 ppg, to go along with a team-best 5.7 rpg. The last time the Hornets were in action the team shot 44.9 percent from the floor, but finished with just 62 points in a loss to Portland State. Eller led the way in the setback with 18 points, while Toles-Bey posted just 12 points.

Neither team has played well this season, but since the Hornets are home in this matchup, look for Sacramento State to grab a victory.
