Boston College (12-11) at Wake Forest (16-5)

GAME NOTES: ACC foes will collide in Winston-Salem this evening, as the Wake Forest Demon Deacons play host to the Boston College Eagles.

Boston College has suffered back-to-back losses to fall to 12-11 overall and 3-6 in ACC action. On Saturday, the team put forth a tremendous effort against Duke in front of the home crowd, but the result was a 66-63 defeat. The last three losses suffered by the Eagles have come by four or fewer points.

As for Wake Forest, it has won its last two games and four of the last five to move to 16-5 overall and 6-3 in ACC action. On Saturday, the Demon Deacons showed a great deal of toughness by earning a 64-61 victory at Virginia in overtime. Wake has won 10 of its 11 home games this season, an obvious reason for confidence tonight.

The Eagles own a 7-2 series advantage over the Demon Deacons, but Wake won both meetings last season.

Boston College is netting 70.0 ppg this season while allowing 65.4 ppg to opponents, but the positive scoring differential is not reflected in the team's 3-6 league record. The Eagles are led by Joe Trapani, who is generating 14.4 ppg to go along with 6.5 rpg. Reggie Jackson checks in with 13.5 ppg and 94 assists, while Corey Raji nets 11.6 ppg. The fourth and final double-digit scorer in the fold is Rakim Sanders with 11.0 ppg. In the three-point loss to Duke over the weekend, Raji netted 15 points to pace the Eagles, who got 13 points from Sanders and 12 points from Trapani. The fact that they only turned the ball over nine times was a major reason they were able to keep things close against arguably the best team in the ACC.

The top player for Wake Forest continues to be Al-Farouq Aminu, who is scoring 16.1 ppg to go along with 11.1 rpg and a team-high 31 blocks. Ishmael Smith checks in with 13.4 ppg and a squad-leading 121 assists, and his 39 steals are also tops. The third and final double-digit scorer in the fold is C.J. Harris with 11.2 ppg. Wake is generating 74.5 ppg while allowing 66.9 ppg to opponents. Against Virginia on Saturday, the Demon Deacons earned a 46-34 rebounding advantage and limited the Cavaliers to 33.8 percent shooting from the floor. If not for a horrendous 11-of-23 effort from the foul line, Wake could have won the game in regulation. Smith scored 15 points, grabbed seven rebounds and handed out five assists in that tilt. Aminu contributed 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Harris scored 10 points.

The nod goes to Wake Forest, which is the better team in this matchup and has the advantage of playing at home.
