Texas Tech (15-7) at Oklahoma (13-9)

GAME NOTES: The Oklahoma Sooners will try to build off their biggest win of the season, as they entertain the Texas Tech Red Raiders tonight in a Big 12 showdown at the Noble Center.

The Sooners are in need of a run if they want to qualify for the NCAA Tournament and on Saturday they took their first step by knocking off ninth- ranked Texas, 80-71. It was the 11th win in as many home games for Oklahoma, which improved to a respectable 4-4 in a tough Big 12 Conference. The Sooners though, are only 13-9 overall, so they still have some work to do to impress the NCAA Tournament committee.

As for the Red Raiders, they looked like a lock for the Big Dance after a fast start to the campaign and a national ranking. The team however, has gone just 3-5 in Big 12 play and could use a strong showing in February. TTU got the month started on a positive note this past Saturday, notching an 81-74 win over Oklahoma State to improve to 15-7 overall.

TTU defeated Oklahoma, 75-65, just last month, but the Sooners still own a 29-17 advantage in the all-time series.

The Red Raiders scored close to half of their points at the foul line on Saturday, going 36-of-46 at the stripe en route to an 81-74 triumph of Oklahoma State. John Roberson went 13-of-14 at the line on his way to 28 points, while Mike Singletary had 22 points and five of the team's 13 steals. Singletary is the club's leading scorer on the season at 15.7 ppg and he is also grabbing a team-high 6.7 rpg. Roberson checks in with 14.8 ppg and he has been in charge of running the showing, distributing a team-best 5.6 apg. David Tairu chips in with 10.6 ppg for TTU, which is tallying 78.0 ppg as a team.

The Sooners connected on 10-of-24 attempts from beyond the arc and 20-of-28 at the free-throw line, as they knocked off Texas on Saturday. Tommy Mason- Griffin poured in 24 points to lead the way and he has now posted four 20- point efforts in his past five outings. Cade Davis added a double-double of 20 points and 10 boards, while Ryan Wright finished with one of his own at 11 points and 14 boards. Willie Warren though, had just three points in 16 minutes, as he continues to recover from a sprained right ankle that kept him sidelined for two of the last three games. Warren is the team's leading scorer on the campaign at 16.1 ppg and Oklahoma is going to need his services down the stretch. Mason-Griffin has stepped up in Warren's absence and he is now averaging 13.2 ppg, to go with 4.6 apg. Tony Crocker turns in 11.6 ppg and 6.4 rpg, while Tiny Gallon adds 10.3 ppg and a team-best 8.1 rpg to the rotation.

Oklahoma is coming off a big win and it should be able to continue its momentum tonight at home, where it has yet to lose this season.
