Florida State (17-6) at Clemson (16-7)

GAME NOTES: ACC foes will collide at Littlejohn Coliseum tonight, as the Clemson Tigers play host to the Florida State Seminoles.

Florida State has won two of its last three games to improve to 17-6 overall and 5-4 in league action. On Saturday, the Seminoles treated the home crowd to a 71-65 decision over Miami-Florida, but the club carries a rather lackluster 3-4 mark in true road games into this evening's affair.

As for Clemson, it has lost four of its last five games after winning 15 of the first 18 this season. The Tigers were most recently in action on Saturday when they fell to Virginia Tech in a 70-59 final on the road. Fortunately, they now return home where they are 10-2 thus far.

FSU owns a 29-24 series advantage over Clemson, and the 'Noles have won the last three meetings.

Florida State has relied heavily on its defensive play to win games this season, and the Seminoles are limiting opponents to 61.1 ppg on 36.8 percent shooting from the floor. At the offensive end, they are posting 71.0 ppg. Solomon Alabi leads FSU with 12.7 ppg on 56.6 percent shooting from the floor, and he is grabbing 7.0 rpg to go along with 56 blocks. As for Chris Singleton, who is tops with 7.5 rpg, he places second in both scoring (10.8 ppg) and blocks (39). Luke Loucks came through with a career-high 19 points off the bench for FSU in the recent victory over Miami, and Singleton pitched in 10 points. The Hurricanes finished with twice as many turnovers as assists, a credit to Florida State's pressure defense.

Like Florida State, Clemson is a solid defensive team. The Tigers are holding foes to 63.0 ppg on 40.9 percent shooting from the floor. At the offensive end, FSU is generating 74.1 ppg, and there are three double-digit scorers in the fold. Trevor Booker tops the Tigers with 15.4 ppg and 8.4 rpg, and he is second on the roster with 34 blocked shots. Demontez Stitt is posting 10.8 ppg, and Tanner Smith adds 10.0 ppg. Against Virginia Tech on Saturday, Clemson shot only 30.6 percent from the floor, including 7-of-25 from three- point range, and turned the ball over 17 times. Perhaps most damaging was a 38-14 deficit in points from the foul line. The lone positive for the Tigers was a 47-35 rebounding advantage.

The home team will earn a victory in this tilt, as Clemson will get plenty of support from the Littlejohn Coliseum crowd.
