GAME NOTES: Two struggling teams in the Colonial Athletic Association will collide this evening when the Towson Tigers host the UNC Wilmington Seahawks at the Towson Center.

The Seahawks fell to 3-10 in CAA play with a 69-62 loss to Delaware on Monday. It was the fourth straight loss for UNCW and the team's ninth loss in its last 10 matchups. On the road the team has been dreadful, losing nine of its 11 contests as the visitor.

The Tigers collected their third league win the last time they were on the floor, as they defeated James Madison, 81-78. It was the second win in the last three games for Towson, which is just 4-8 at home on the year.

Earlier this season the Tigers defeated UNC Wilmington, 58-53. However, the Seahawks still own a 13-8 edge in the all-time series against Towson.

The last time the Seahawks were in action the team did not do much offensively, which is why UNC Wilmington fell on the wrong end of a 69-62 setback to Delaware. The Seahawks shot a pedestrian 40.0 percent from the floor, and made only 8-of-22 shots from behind the arc. Chad Tomko and Johnny Wolf led the way in the loss with 15 points each, while Trevor Deloach tallied 10 points. Tomko has been the top player on the floor for UNCW this season, as the guard is pacing the team with 13.4 ppg and 102 assists. John Fields is the only other player netting double figures, as the forward is averaging 11.2 ppg, to go along with 9.5 rpg and 59 blocks. On the season, the team as a whole has been rather inconsistent, netting just 65.7 ppg, behind a 41.8 percent shooting effort.

Towson was outstanding in its recent matchup against James Madison, as the Tigers erupted for 81 points behind a 49.1 percent shooting effort. Towson also made 7-of-18 attempts from long range, and finished the game 22-of-33 from the foul line. Jarrel Smith led the way in the win with 21 points, while RaShawn Polk tallied 13 points. Robert Nwankwo posted 11 points, while Isaiah Philmore and Josh Brown contributed 10 points apiece. Despite the strong showing, the Tigers are still only producing a mere 66.9 ppg on the year. John Thornton is leading the team with 11.3 ppg on the year, while Calvin Lee is netting 11.1 ppg, to go along with 5.6 rpg.

Both teams have struggled throughout most of the season, but the Tigers do have homecourt advantage in this matchup, and should be able to grab a victory here.
