Toledo (3-21) at Miami-Ohio (10-13)

GAME NOTES: Still without a win in league play the Toledo Rockets will battle the Miami-Ohio RedHawks this evening in a Mid-American Conference bout at Millett Hall.

Winning has not come easy for the Rockets this season with just a mere three victories on the year. Toledo is currently mired in a 14-game losing skid, which includes a 65-59 setback to Buffalo the last time the team was in action. The loss to the Bulls dropped Toledo to a fruitless 0-10 in conference play.

As for the RedHawks, they soar into this matchup, riding a four-game winning streak. The last time Miami-Ohio was on the floor the team captured a 74-69 decision over Northern Illinois, pushing its conference ledger to 7-3 on the year.

The RedHawks hold a comfortable 66-49 edge over Toledo in the all-time series, and have won the last three meetings on the hardwood.

The Rockets have been inconsistent offensively and head into this matchup averaging 55.8 ppg, behind a 40.9 percent shooting effort. Jake Barnett is the only player netting double figures for Toledo, as the guard is posting 13.6 ppg. However, Barnett has only dished out 40 assists, while also committing 74 turnovers. The last time Toledo was on the floor the team shot 51.0 percent, but finished with just 59 points in a loss to Buffalo. Jordan Dressler is pacing the team with 19 points, while Barnett added 14 points and six rebounds. Justin Anyijong and Malcolm Griffin tallied 10 points apiece in the setback.

The RedHawks have also dealt with issues at the offensive end of the court, as the team is netting just 62.5 ppg, behind a mediocre 42.9 percent shooting effort. Kenny Hayes is the only player netting double figures for Miami-Ohio, as the guard is posting 14.3 ppg, to go along with a team-best 3.1 apg. The last time Miami-Ohio was in action the team put forth a surprising effort against Northern Illinois, scoring 74 points behind a 49.0 percent shooting effort. Hayes led the way in the win with 22 points, while Nick Winbush tallied 17 points. Julian Mavunga added a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Antonio Ballard posted 12 points.

Neither team has played well offensively, but the RedHawks have been solid at the defensive end of the floor and should continue their solid play this evening against a weak Toledo squad.
