Oregon (12-10) at Arizona (12-11)

GAME NOTES: The Arizona Wildcats begin a three-game homestand tonight by hosting the Oregon Ducks in a Pac-10 matchup at the McKale Center.

The Wildcats are a solid 8-3 at home and considering how tight the Pac-10 race is, this is a good chance for the team to make a move. The team is also looking to snap out of a two-game slide which includes a 78-60 defeat at Washington State on Saturday. Arizona is now 6-5 in the Pac-10, leaving it in a five-way tie for second place.

The Ducks are also coming off a poor performance, as they were handled by rival Oregon State, 62-42, on Saturday. The loss ended a short two-game win streak and dropped Oregon to 12-10 overall and just 4-6 within the conference.

As for the all-time series, Arizona leads Oregon by a 42-23 count and that includes a 74-60 victory in the first meeting of the season.

The Ducks shot a horrific 29.8 percent from the floor, including a dismal 2- of-17 showing from long range, as they were trounced by Oregon State on Saturday. Oregon went only 12-of-20 at the foul line and it also had 17 turnovers to only four assists. Malcolm Armstead and Matthew Humphrey each scored 10 points for Oregon in the loss. Tajuan Porter was limited to just three points, but he remains the team's leading scorer on the season at 11.9 ppg. Armstead adds 11.3 ppg and he leads the team with 4.2 apg and 46 steals. Michael Dunigan, who grabs 5.5 rpg, rounds out the double-digit scorers with 10.4 ppg.

The Wildcats were outscored at the foul line, 23-10, and outrebounded, 36-24, as they were defeated at Washington State this past weekend. Defense was also an issues for Arizona, which allowed the Cougars to shoot an efficient 51.0 percent from the field. Derrick Williams guided the team in the loss with 16 points and seven boards, while Kyle Fogg and Nic Wise chipped in with 13 and 10 points, respectively. On the season, Wise leads Arizona in scoring at 15.5 ppg and he is also dishing off a team-high 3.5 apg and shooting 39.0 percent from three-point distance. Williams nips at his heels with 15.3 ppg and he also brings in a team-high 7.1 rpg for the Wildcats. Fogg puts forth 11.1 pg, while Jamelle Horne adds 10.2 ppg and 5.8 rpg to the equation.

Arizona has been solid at home this season and playing in front of its fans should help in picking up the win tonight.
